I'm not alone in saying that LG's visual take on Android isn't my favorite, but it isn't that bad either.

It's not quite as large or long-lasting as the 5,000 mAh battery in the similarly-priced Moto G Power, but it still outperforms most of the flagships I've used over the past few years. I didn't expect to get that kind of battery bang for my buck at this price, so this was a welcome surprise. There were several days where I didn't use it much, and the standby time was incredible.

I think I charged this phone maybe two or three times in almost two weeks, and I could confidently leave it off of the charger for days on end. The cell itself is a 4,000 mAh monstrosity, and it most definitely pulls its weight for this phone.

On the plus side, the battery life in the LG Stylo 6 has been phenomenal. It's not unusable by any means, but there is a stutter there that you'll notice, especially if you're coming from a more premium phone. Still, the area where you'll notice the under-powered chipset the most is when scrolling through web pages and long-form content, as well as gaming. Most of that latency/lag is forgivable, in my opinion (especially given the low price point). Apps that are stored in memory open just fine, but if they haven't been opened in a while, it can take up to eight or nine seconds to open. Transitions and animations are just a bit slow, as are tasks like opening the phone with the fingerprint sensor. The low-end MediaTek Helio P35 dutifully chugs along and can handle the basics, but not all that smoothly. I grouped performance and battery life together because they go hand-in-hand, but really, it's a mixed bag here. While it has some nice features like a comfort view to help with eye strain, night mode, and accessibility features like app scaling and font sizing, it doesn't appear that you can recalibrate the display or customize color profiles suit your preferences in any way. Colors are vibrant, text is crisp, and there is a ton of room to showcase your content. At near 400 ppi, it bests other panels in its class, while filling out every portion of that giant 6.8-inch frame. Turning the phone back around again, we come face to screen with the Stylo 6's impressive display. Whether typing, using the stylus or trying to reach the top corners, you're going to want to use both hands a lot of the time with this device. It thus feels good to hold one-handed, though, as I said earlier, it's definitely a two-handed phone when you're trying to work on it. The phone, while tall, is not all that wide.

It managed to bring some novelty to an otherwise stale design, and it did so in an understated yet sophisticated style.

While those other phones are striking in their own way, I will say that I particularly liked the way LG executed this look. The White Pearl color treatment has a similar effect to the Interstellar Glow on the OnePlus 8 or the Aura White of the Galaxy Note 10 in that it seems to change color and catch the light differently depending on how you hold it. But the back is where this phone really shines. The side rails are definitely made out of hard plastic, but they are colored and texturized to attempt (somewhat successfully) to mimic metal. The White Pearl treatment on the rear panel is a real treat for a phone at this price point. Of course, as with any cutout, you get used to it during use. Ok, we're all used to notches and cutouts these days, and if I'm honest, the tear-drop is my favorite implementation of a cutout, but dat notch doh! It's small but deep.

The screen is a massive 6.8 inch Full HD LCD, with a tear-drop notch at the top for the selfie cam. However, once I get past that initial reaction, I immediately appreciate some of the design decisions that trick you into thinking this is a much more expensive device than it actually is.
